Your family, friends, and work colleagues rely on you. You rely on your truck. The modern pickup truck must be more than capable. It must combine authentic grit with grace, to be a dependable partner – an extension to your life. That’s why you need the 2023 Toyota Tundra. The only tool for the job – whatever the job may be.
“Toyota reimagined and re-engineered its full-size pickup in the 2022 model year and the 2023 Tundra boasts proven capabilities, modern features, and fresh styling – everything that ensures Toyota truck fans will deem it a worthy replacement for their older Tundra model,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “At the same time, Tundra’s performance, capabilities, comfort, technology, and style is commanding attention from truck fans across Canada – regardless of what they’re driving now.”
Pickup trucks start with power and the 2023 Tundra offers a choice of two powertrains, all built around a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Tundra i-FORCE MAX turns this powertrain into a hybrid system with a motor/generator and clutch located within the bell housing to pack an impressive punch – delivering 437 peak horsepower and up to 583 lb-ft of torque – including grunt-worthy amounts of torque from a standing start and a towing rating of up to 5,067 kg (11,170 lbs). Most gas-powered models generate 389 peak horsepower and up to 479 lb-ft of torque, while the value-priced SR grades produce 348 peak horsepower and up to 405 lb-ft of torque.
Toyota’s engineers crafted a pickup worthy of these powertrains, enabling Tundra to conquer competitors with superior capabilities and unmatched ride comfort. Meantime, designers matched Tundra’s sophisticated performance to a modern body design that draws on the concept of “Technical Muscle” to convey its toughness and capability. Toyota offers the Tundra in choice of Double Cab or CrewMax body configurations, with regular or long beds.
Inside, both cabs provide comfortable seating for up to five adults, with the CrewMax delivering even greater space in the back row. The dashboard features a horizontal layout theme with an instrument panel and centre stack that flow seamlessly into the overall interior layout. Premium materials reflect Tundra’s heritage as a truck that’s equally at home on the jobsite or the campsite, while the overall design balances angular lines with muscular refinement.
Every 2023 Tundra is factory-fitted with the Toyota Multimedia system. This system, which integrates wirelessly with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, features Toyota’s newest interface, which improves interaction between people and vehicle through sight, touch, and voice. Many functions may be controlled via the touch screen via the same gestures used on mobile phone screens.
As a Toyota, every Tundra is also a safety powerhouse – featuring an impressive bundle of active and passive safety technologies. All models feature Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, designed to enhance driver awareness, decision-making, and control. Other safety features factory fitted on all models include the Toyota Star Safety System, eight air bags, and a backup camera.
